In Perspective

Something I’ve recently learned is that if you have high expectations, you are likely to be let down. It’s a sad thought to realize. I think that I’ve known it for a while now and just didn’t want to believe it is true. But honestly, life is full of people moving in and out of your life. You can’t expect them to always be there. People grow up and grow apart. Relationships are constantly changing; sometimes for the better, and sometimes for the worse. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t cherish them while they last. It means that if you find someone who is truly here to stay, don’t let them go. As for a majority of the people, have minimal expectations, but don’t be used. Let them prove you wrong. Let them show you that the relationship or friendship is worth it. But if worse comes to worse, you can’t be afraid to let go and move on.
